NHGMC holds Open Auditions twice per year (in early September and in early January) at the beginning of our rehearsals for our Winter or Spring concert series. We seek singers who are men over the age of 18, who are gay, straight (gay-friendly), or adults who are male-identifying.
Auditions are held at the First Congregational Church, 508 Union Street, Manchester, from 6:30 to 7 pm. New singers are asked to stay for rehearsal, from 7:00 to 930 pm.
Parking and church entrance: Ample free parking is available in the parking lot at the corner of Amherst Street and Union Street. The lot is surrounded by a black steel-pipe fence. The entrance to the lot is on Union Street. Walk across Amherst Street and come to the church’s side entrance beneath the WELCOME sign.
Auditions are quick, private, and painless. You needn’t have any material nor music prepared. It is an exercise in pitch matching to place your voice in the proper section. The ability to read music is helpful, but it is not a requirement for joining. Rehearsals repeat every Tuesday through our concert series. NHGMC asks every member for $50 seasonal membership dues. Members are also asked to purchase a tuxedo to wear at most concert performances.
Add your voice to ours. Join the fun and camaraderie. If you don’t sing, at any time you can join our support staff or assist our Board of Directors. Contact us!
